3 tips to use Semrush for on-page SEO

Hi there,

You asked, "How can I do on-page SEO with Semrush?"

If you're creating a mountain of content "for SEO" but still struggling to rank well organically, this one is for you.

1. Optimize each page following detailed and actionable tips

On-page SEO is the sum of many parts: technical setup of a page, keyword optimization, content structure, and more. Use the On Page SEO Checker to get optimization ideas on strategy, which features on search results pages to target, content improvement and user experience tips, and technical fixes. Analyze any page on your website and get a full list of improvements and fixes to boost its performance.

2. Get content right the first time

The better your website pages meet your audience's needs, the more they will engage it. SEO Writing Assistant helps you ensure your copy resonates with your audience, giving you tips for related keywords to include or how to optimize images, tags, and links.

3. Close the keyword gaps

For this you'll need Keyword Gap. Select "Exact URL" and enter the URL of your page and the relevant page URLs of your top competitors (alternatively, you can add the URLs of the top ranking pages for your target term).

Check which keywords all of your competitors are ranking for that you aren't ("Missing") or for your keywords that rank lower than those of the competition ("Weak").

Improve or add content to the page to target these more efficiently. In some cases, even simple things like optimizing your subheadings to include important keywords can make a big difference.

Until next time!
